Over two million people have deserted their homes in Ukraine and are taking refuge in Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and Moldova, in hopes of escaping the devastation of war. Most of them are lacking food, bedding and other essentials, and have only the clothes they traveled in. Upon arrival, some refugees are offered a home or facility to stay in, but many have no place to go and are forced to sleep in bomb shelters, subway stations, event venues, and other public settings. Their situation is dire. However, the generosity and heartfelt attention of ministry organizations like European Initiative have relieved the burden for so many refugees. Tatjana, a Ukrainian ministry partner, said this in a message to EI: “You were the first who brought us support, and many others joined together with you. We don’t feel alone here in Ukraine. Thank you from my heart.” Tatjiana also asked for prayer over the safety and well being of all involved in the war, and over the Ukrainian army as they stand strong in fighting for their people’s freedom. Let’s continue praying for God’s protection and provision over our brothers and sisters in Ukraine, and over our ministry partners such as European Initiative who are representing the heart of Jesus to so many people in need.
